About Us

BedBug Ltd was set up by Jonathan Paul Jackson in 2005.

theBedBug was originally designed as a one-off caravan for a charity trip around the coastline of the UK to raise money for the local Multiple Sclerosis therapy centre in Hereford. When his dad, Mark (who suffers from the condition) was planning the trip, the prospect of spending many nights on a cold, hard floor in a tent didn't appeal to him so he designed and built a caravan.



The original prototype was made out of wood on a metal trailer chassis, but this proved to be too heavy as Mark intended to do the trip in his Fiat Panda! This was when Jonathan saw the potential of the caravan and theBedBug was born.

With guidance from his father, theBedBug has since been developed in fibreglass, which proved to be both strong and lightweight and launched in July 2007.



As it stands, the charity trip is still happening in the summer of 2008. Unfortunately the Fiat Panda has since gone to the great scrapheap in the sky, but Mark has a new toy - a brand new, specially designed trike to do the trip on!
